Hihi! I haven't posted in like 19 days. tsk tsk. a little late but OBS was fun!! It would be quite long if i talk about it day by day. ahh. i think i should just summarise. too lazy to do it all over again. haha.

haha. these were my team mates! I wanna thank all of them for being such cooperative group members and giving encouragement to us all the time. i was so touched!Day 1: The first activity we did--jetty jump! At first, i thought the jetty wasn't that high up from the water. but when i actually stood on that plank, i was scared. haha. it looked super high from that plank ok. but it was just a psychological obstacle and in the end i jumped. i felt so accomplished! haha. maybe when i was younger, i'd be standing there for half an hour...looking down and asking exactly how high is it from the water. maybe it was the environment i was in that gave me the encouragement to jump down. like 5 people jumped before me and survived so i probably won't die. haha to think that i said something as lame as "i just want to live". after that, we learnt how to kayak. it was the first time we kayaked in that 5 days. the three of us--ximian, yishang and i kept going to weird places..like to bang into the jetty. i also discovered that i had absolutely no sense of direction at all. heh heh. not the first time in that 5 days. but first discovery. after that, we pitched our tents for the first time in 5 days.. and cooked dinner. it was nice cos we all enjoyed the peanuts! and while eating, my beloved team mates were already talking about bubble tea!! ahh. that night, we slept in sunrise valley. or was it sunset valley? okay anyway, we didn't see both sunset or sunrise. day 2 was just tired and challenging...and lots of homesickness so it's better to omit it.Day 3: we kayaked all the way to camp 1! from some isolated beach. but anyway, when we reached camp 1, i was like "LAND!" the sandflies scared me, though. i've never seen so many flies at one place at the same time. traumatising. then, the real SHOCK came. i found sand in everything!! it was saddening. it's inevitable that i have sand in my socks and shoes...in my cap too. and sunblock (i realised when i came home). but i wasn't supposed to have sand in my food! i was packing my stuff when i see brown particles in my apple. in the little hole. gross. and in the plastic bag containing all the food. so i was cleaning the food...as in they were in packets. so i was cleaning the packets. then i found a red bean bun half a red bean bun!! [common practice on this blog not to disclaim embarrassing details of blogger's life]---but i just need to make myself clear that i did not eat it, did not even open it, cos i do not really favour red bean. and of all the exotic desserts they have in the world, it had to red bean soup for supper that night. how wonderfully coincidental. and, i have no idea how this led to sandy glendy...decomposed brain...sand-filled brain. [common practice not to disclaim embarrassing details of blogger's life unless it's absolutely hilarious it has to be shared with the world]Day 4: it's a HIGH day! okay not the first part. we had to find checkpoints around Pulau Ubin and then eventually trek back to camp 2. ximian and i were the navigators to lead Nila Utama to the checkpoints. there were about 5 or 6 of them and we had to find the sign stuck to the tree. so basically, checkpoints...yeah. [common practice on this blog to omit failures of blogger's life] -- how am i supposed to navigate when i have no sense of direction!! so....ahem. okay so just pretend checkpoints part is over. we were back in camp 2! haha. we did rock climbing before pitching the tents and cooking dinner again. it was our last dinner there so they provided us with fresh ingredients like vegetables and eggs. so xiaodi and kexin planned to cook a fantastic meal for us. haha. they had the dishes in mind so we helped out. preparing the food and stuff. i basically popped to and fro the toilet and the place we ate...to wash mesh tins and pans..yada yada. that night, we slept in heaven. haha. there's this flight of steps which leads to this place. and Sam called it the "stairway to heaven". Sam = Sam's "sister" Ximian took a photo of the flight of steps. somehow,we were very high when we were pitching the tents. Day 5: i had a good night's sleep:D cos i knew that today we'd be going home!! while coming down the "stairway to heaven", i counted the steps. it was exactly 100 steps. how cool is that!! oh and halfway down the steps, i said, "we were in heaven last night. no wonder we were so high." haha. get it? high = heaven. that is just the best pun i've ever made in my life. <33>
haha. a tad late. but it's to remember what i did during obs. and reflect. haha. now my sis complains i'm too naggy cos i'm always scolding her for scolding my little sis. what an irony. tsk tsk. i shall talk nicely next time. anyway, been going for this DNA workshop these 2 days. it's quite interesting. it's the last day tomorrow!! haha i'm interested but i'm happy that it's the last day too. we're gonna debate about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Social-Ethical issues of Gene Screening. :O i'm supposed to research on both topics!!! ahh. gotta go now!Labels: interesting/exciting days
